The L-M Paper Roll Saw is an electric-powered chainsaw with a seven-foot-long saw bar and a special carbide-tipped saw chain. It is mounted in a frame that will hold a 60-inch paper roll and trim off a damaged end or divide a long roll into two shorter rolls. The saw is installed on a shifting sub-base that will move the saw to line up a cut or shift to cut multiple slabs off a roll without re positioning. The saw bar is moved with a hydraulic cylinder as is the side shift feature. The on board hydraulic power unit can also be coupled to a trunnion roll assembly to rotate the roll for a smoother cut.

The saw uses a 15 HP motor to drive the saw chain and will make a cut through a 60-inch roll of kraft paper in about five minutes. The saw comes with standard features including a stellite-faced double-ended saw bar, an 18-inch side shifting base, a heavy steel tube frame, and plexiglass shield to protect the operator, special carbide-tipped saw chain, and wood chocks to hold rolls up to 60 inches in diameter. An optional vacuum system can be added to remove the dust from the saw during the cut.
